Identity verification, explained

Know-your-customer checks are a licensing requirement, not a casino-specific hurdle — every regulated operator runs some version of the same process before a first withdrawal, and often before it if the account triggers a review earlier. The documents asked for and the time it takes depend on the operator, but the mechanics are consistent enough to plan around.

Upload documents only inside the casino's own account area. A verification request arriving by email with a link to "confirm identity" outside the account is the single most common phishing pattern aimed at casino players — go to the account directly instead.

What gets asked for

Government photo ID

Passport, driving licence or national ID — current, not expired, and matching the name on the account exactly. A name changed by marriage without updating the account is a frequent snag.

Proof of address

A utility bill or bank statement, usually dated within the last three months. A document addressed to a parent or partner rather than the account holder is typically rejected.

Proof of payment method

A photo of the card used to deposit, with the middle digits and the CVV covered, or a statement showing the deposit line for a bank transfer or e-wallet.

Source-of-funds, sometimes

Triggered by unusually large deposits or withdrawals — a payslip or a screenshot of an account balance. This is the step that takes longest and is the one worth starting early if a big withdrawal is planned.

Getting a document accepted the first time

  1. Photograph, don't scan on a phone scanner app

Scanner apps aggressively sharpen and crop, which sometimes strips the fine print a reviewer needs. A flat, well-lit photo of the whole document on a dark surface usually clears faster.

  2. Check every corner is inside the frame

A cropped corner is the single most common reason a document bounces back for resubmission, adding a full review cycle — often a day or more — to the wait.

  3. Avoid glare across the text

Overhead lights and camera flash both create glare on laminated IDs. Angle the document slightly rather than shooting it flat under a ceiling light.

  4. Submit all requested documents together

Uploading one document, waiting, then uploading the next when asked restarts the review queue each time. Submitting the full set in one pass is faster even if it feels like over-sharing upfront.

How long it actually takes

A clean, complete submission typically clears within a day; a source-of-funds review on a large balance can run several days. If a review is stuck well past what support originally quoted, that is a reasonable reason to open a support ticket referencing the case rather than resubmitting the same documents again.

Can I play while verification is pending?

Usually yes, up to a point — deposits and play typically continue, but a withdrawal will not release until the review clears. Some accounts flagged for extra scrutiny are restricted earlier.

Why was I asked to verify again after already doing it once?

A large new deposit, a changed payment method, or a routine periodic re-check can all trigger a second review even on an account verified before — this is standard, not a sign of a problem with the account.
